
Keep the Flame Alive
The main ask of this project was to evoke empathy from the passerby who happens upon it. At the time—and increasingly since—climate change, and subsequently sea-level rise, has been a topic surrounded both by empathy and apathy; My aim was to target both audiences. To do this, I focused on the pride that is inherent in us all in the wonders of this world, with one of our very own being the Statue of Liberty. In many cases, this world that we know and love will be greatly affected by climate change, which is why I called on all of us to act now before humanity’s flame is snuffed.
